I give up
My toddler is going to have to live without YouTube kids because I just give up at this point. The block option made me a believer for a few months but unfortunately it hasn’t fixed much of the problem. Still too many videos of characters bombing each other, cars being set on fire and thrown over buildings, etc. My kid gets rowdy watching these videos, and I’m not a fan of having toy cars thrown around the house because he thinks the videos are cool. I’ve blocked so many channels, only to have him find another channel five minutes later (I’m not even exaggerating) with the same content. I’ve disabled search, recommendations based on history, and clear his history daily, only for the same problem to start again.
The app has so much potential. My child has learned so much from it and I honestly hate to take it away, but the negative is just too much. There are so many easy fixes too, letting parents create playlist, or subscribe to channels so that we can keep track of what they watch would be great. I really don’t understand why they can’t just do that. Also, they could actually hire people to make sure the videos that are on their app are actually kid friendly. Just an idea.
Til then.
